THE WIND OF ADVERSITY HITS (A Nation’s Glory Turns to Shame)
7:30 a.m., September 12, 2001, Atlanta:
I woke up around 4:30 a.m. and read, from the Bible, Ephesians chapters 5 and 6. Afterwards, I went back to sleep. Then, in a vision, by the Spirit of God, I saw a gigantic American flag towering in the sky. I perceived the flag to be as high as the twin towers in New York. It was really beautiful and was held at both ends by a network of steel poles. Interestingly, this flag did not look like an ordinary flag made from cloth or canvas. It shone like glass and glittered under the sun. Then I heard the Lord say, “Hold fast to your position because the wind is about to blow.” He also told me to observe how the flag was going to be destroyed in a short time by a “thunderstorm.” In an attempt to secure my position, I literally dug my feet in and held on tight to my pillow. Then it happened suddenly. Whatever it was, sounded like a combination of lightening, thunder, and a mighty rushing wind. It came in swiftly and tore up the flag and the steel poles came down. The flag was destroyed beyond recognition. The vibration shook everything, including my bed, but I held on tight. Then I woke up.
As I spent time in the presence of the Lord, I discerned that the flag represented the glory of America, and that glory is about to turn to shame. For a nation that exalts itself against the knowledge of God runs the risk of being destroyed by God. But this is not for America’s enemies to glory in; it is for all of us to humble ourselves before God that He may lift us up in our time of trouble.
Now, because this vision specifically came to me one day after 9/11, I knew for sure that God was not talking to me about what had already happened. He sure was talking about something that is yet to happen, something that seemed way bigger than 9/11. So let us all be in prayer for America.
In the vision, I was instructed to hold fast to my position because “the wind is about to blow.” Consider this phrase and ask yourself if this is a wind of peace or one of adversity. Obviously it is a wind of adversity, destruction, and devastation. Consider what the scripture has to say about this:
Jeremiah 51:1: Thus saith the LORD; Behold, I will raise up against Babylon, and against them that dwell in the midst of them that rise up against me, a destroying wind [spirit of a destroyer].
The “wind” is indeed the destroyer, and, according to this Bible prophecy, the destroyer is sent to destroy sinful Babylon and bring its glory to naught. Likewise, a wind of adversity is about to blow over Babylon America. Therefore, as a people, we ought to fear God and seek His mercy at this crucial time.
